Across the Universe -
Favorite character and why: Max! I feel that if he is actually, the most important character. Without him, Lucy and Jude would have never met, Lucy never would have morphed into the person she became by the end of the movie, and none of them would have ever met Pru, Sadie, or JoJo. Also, I think he is absolutely gorgeous, and his voice makes me melt.
Who do you relate to most and why: I think I relate to Jude and Lucy. Jude, because he just wants to experience love, live his life, and create art. Lucy, because at the end of the movie, she seems very naive, and throughout the plot, she grows into a different woman before the audience's eyes.
Favorite scene? the I've Just Seen a Face scene. It's so creative and colorful, I love the way it was put together, or All You Need is Love, it leaves you with this amazing feeling.
Favorite quotes (no more than three):
I'm a cross-dressing homosexual pacifist with a spot on my lung? - Max
Say you're a pedophile - say you want to go into the villages and you want to rape and pillage all the little girls that look like me!- Prudence
We're navigators, we're aviators, eatin' taters, masturbatin' alligators, bombardiers, we got no fears, won't shed no tears, we're pushin' the frontiers of transcendental perception. - Dr. Robert
Favorite song-sceneI have two. Happiness is a Warm Gun, it stands out of the whole movie, it's so vivid and brilliantly directed. Joe's voice sends my heart soaring, and makes me feel infinite. Strawberry Fields Forever, it shows Lucy and Jude's relationship starting to tumble down, and how much Max being over in Vietnam is tearing their life apart, piece by piece. I love how it is interpreted, using the strawberry bombs, and seeing Lucy cry with the tv reflection on her face.
